The father of a little girl born in the church three weeks ago cannot hold back his gleeful pride in spite of the difficulties of caring for a newborn in precarious and often unsanitary conditions. Many among the immigrants, who were forcefully escorted out of the church a few weeks later, ended up staying in France anyway.
